A soft rain falling this morning in the garden, and as I stand under the porch looking out I melt into the stillness and left my pen make marks across the paper. I am reminded of the Japanese Art of Haiku, short poems to capture the experience of a moment, as I add words to my drawing; Raindrops from Cherry trees, Stone gateway, A still rain falling
Spring is around the corner with more sunny moments outside. Inspired by this I set out to complete one month of Daily Drawing practice. This is my first drawing; 'Mystic Medlar, Mossy Stones, Buzzards' cries overhead'
My set up for meditative ink drawing. Practicing catching the poppy seed head.
Horizontal pine impression
Another piece using the same subject. Trying to keep it simpler than the previous above.
Monotype using the resist as well as brush technique. Again the Pine subject.
In my practice I allow myself to Pause and experience my surroundings.
