Aries Full Moon - Bravely acknowledging our own unique Power
17th October 2024 at 24 degrees
Here in the middle of the month of October we come to our second lunation of the month, following on from the Libra New Moon Eclipse on the 2nd.
With this Full Moon in Aries, a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars, we are called to explore the energies of the Warrior, the Pioneer and the Survivor. A feisty energy indeed with the first sign of the zodiac, as Aries in its attempt to be brave and take action, can stumble on being too hasty, impulsive and adrenaline-pumped.
However, wherever this lunation falls in your natal chart, there is a potential for insight and illumination on what requires your strength, fire and courage. Feeling the fear and doing it anyway, so to speak.
Here at 24 degrees of Aries this Full Moon is also conjunct dwarf planet Eris, found even beyond Pluto, never the less, being activated here. Eris is known as the planet of discord and rage at being discounted or wrongly treated. Given this, this full moon might well give emotional voice to a part of you which has been oppressed in the past. Eris is about the feminine warrior energy, as the sister of Mars, was not invited to the wedding with the other Gods and Goddesses. Hence, this full moon might fill us with a rebellious, empowered strength, to stand up for ourselves, where previously we simply had to survive.
As the ruler of Aries, Mars, currently in Cancer adds to this, often in this sign bringing up emotional sensitivities from childhood of not feeling safe or protected. This can indeed be a triggering time, when our Inner child and its rebelling might make itself heard. However, if we are aware, it need not be driven to explosiveness, but instead honoured, heard and cared for by our Adult selves.
Chiron in Aries at 21 degrees, is not far off and brings something we have been working on for a few years now of healing the wound of being called too selfish (independent) and too inconsiderate (assertive), allowing ourselves to trust our instincts and our inner fire to inspire others to initiate and act boldly.
This Full Moon is also approaching a square with Pluto at 29 degrees now direct, about to leave Capricorn for the last time and enter Aquarius on the 19th November. This Plutonian flavour adds depth and raw honesty at this time, but in the way of the Wise Elder (Capricorn), and asking us how we have learnt to be mature in our self-empowerment. For the last 20 years we have worked with this energy of taking responsibility for (Cap) our own power. Perhaps by recognising where we had our power taken away, and now at the very last degrees, there is a sense of our own backbone straightening to acknowledge, to ourselves, where we claim back our power. I feel in Aries, this is the quiet power of being ourselves, without apologies or explanations.
This quiet self-confidence ties in with the Pluto ingress into Aquarius where the values of originality and eccentricity is the new norm, and with everyone contributing in their own unique way. More of this soon to come, for sure!
Wishing you a quietly but bravely self-honouring Full Moon in Aries,
/Sara
